Hello Future!

Composer, Producer, Entrepreneur

YOSHIKI is a songwriter, pianist and drummer, as well as the leader of the rock group X Japan. A distinguished, internationally active musician, he is responsible for producing a wide range of music that includes a piano concerto to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the reign of the Emperor of Japan, the official theme song for the opening ceremony of the 2005 World Exposition, theme songs for various Hollywood movies, and the official theme song for the Golden Globes®, one of the most prestigious film awards ceremonies in the world.

X JAPAN, his legendary rock group, boasts sales of more than 30-million singles and albums combined, and has filled the 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome a record 18 times. Among the band’s notable achievements is its recent conquest of three of the biggest venues in music: New York’s Madison Square Garden, the American temple to rock and roll, where they played in 2014; Carnegie Hall, the iconic classical music venue in the US that hosted a solo performance by YOSHIKI in January 2017; and England’s Wembley Stadium (now SSE Arena, Wembley), where the band held an extremely successful concert in March 2017.

YOSHIKI is active in many areas besides music. He is the founder of the Yoshiki Foundation America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and serves as an advisor to JAPAN HOUSE: hubs set up by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to communicate Japanese culture. He is also the designer of his own brand of kimono, YOSHIKIMONO.

He and his band are attracting even more attention internationally after the documentary film “WE ARE X” opened worldwide.
